HYDERABAD: A building in Gulzar Houz, close to Charminar, that had both residential and commercial apartments was completely destroyed by fire, killing at least 17 people, including eight children.

Ten injured residents were moved to a private medical institution and DRDO Hospital.

According to the initial fire department report, the fire started at 5:30 am while the majority of the inhabitants were asleep.
